Happy Thursday. For this week's post, I wanted to share a few of the reasons I love blogging... and they might be reasons that you yourself would want to consider becoming a blogger. I grouped these into 5 reasons- which is one reason for each year I've been blogging.
One of the biggest things about blogging (or writing in general) is that it's another way to use your "voice". It's a way to express what you're thinking or feeling, in your own way, using whatever words you feel describe each and every detail best. It's a platform where you can "take a stand", offer encouragement, ask for advice, or just rant about the last book you read.
Blogging friends! "Meeting" other blogging peers and seeing the amazing content they create has been one of my favorite parts of blogging ever since I first began. It's a way to find people with similar interests, to ask for tips and advice (and offer some as well), and to be inspired by how your fellow bloggers are sharing their thoughts and feelings and words and ideas and creativity.
After being a blogger for a little while, I really could see that it gave me a bit of a "confidence boost". Sharing my projects and ideas and getting positive, negative, critical, and helpful feedback from other bloggers was a huge growing experience... and it was great. I love that I can "speak" my mind on my blog, and I feel much more comfortable ranting on here than I do in real life.
You guys have probably seen me refer to this blog as "my internet realm"... and it's true!! I mean, your blog is pretty much your own little internet kingdom. A corner of the online world that you get to customize to be your very own. You can post whatever you want, you can "decorate it" (HTML+ graphic design for the win!) however you so desire. It can have whatever "vibe" you feel like giving it, and that, my friend, is awesome.
Blogging has helped me to discover new things about myself. It's allowed me to discover new people and stories and ideas. Through blogging, I've gained new interests and hobbies and the motivation to stick with things. I don't think I would have stuck with "my writing thing" this long had I not been writing for this blog for so many years. I discover new books, movies, shows, and music to check out all the time via other bloggers. I find new things to learn and use- HTML coding, photography tricks, etc.
Basically, if you're thinking of starting a blog.... do it. Maybe it won't last forever. Maybe you'll get bored with it, or maybe it will turn out to just not be "your thing". But no matter what you do with your blog or how long it lasts, I can almost guarantee that you'll
Enjoy a new way to express yourself using your "voice",
Find new friends in a community full of joy, creativity, and support,
Gain new confidence through this new endeavor,
Have the time of your life customizing and setting up your internet realm,
and both enjoy and benefit from the discovery of new people, ideas, and skills.
Have a great day, guys- thanks for reading!
