Three days (roughly) until NaNoWriMo begins. 52 hours.
I am actually more prepared than I thought I was going to be...though still not as prepared as I'd like to be. But then again, I don't know exactly how prepared I'd like to be, so I guess I'll probably never be as prepared as I'd like to be...or something. Anyways. I've been able to (almost) complete the character profiles for all of my Main or Secondary characters. I still want to iron out a few details about the separate POVs (to make sure they all sound like different people). Also, my MC is a guy, and I haven't really written from "guy POV" before, so...this will be interesting. I was able to find some pretty helpful articles though, and I can always consult my bros or male friends if need be, so we shall see....hopefully... Also, I already feel bad for all of my characters...because I can be an insane person when it comes to writing...this about sums it up. Heh. I have a small list of writing podcasts to listen to....probably should get to work on those...heh. I also really need to find some new "Writing Sounds"; aka I need to find some new songs/artists and mix them with some of my current favorite writing music and then create a new playlist. I have a writing tips board on Pinterest, and today I went through that and pinned the charts/articles, etc., that looked like they would be the most helpful right now. I pinned things onto the board specifically for my novel, but there may be some things that you'd find helpful too, so if you're participating in NaNoWriMo this year (or if you need help with writing in general) then click here to check it out. I'm about to start designing the temporary cover for Continuing Forever: Book 2. Of course, you don't have to add a cover to your novel on the NaNoWriMo site, but it really bugs me if it just sits there and stays blank...also, the title used above is only temporary....it's kind of hard to name a book before you've written it. I'm going to be doing these NaNo updates pretty regularly during November (weekly sounds pretty reasonable). I also want to have a video version of most of those updates (hoping to film one for this one today or tomorrow), so yeah, that'll be fun if I'm able to get around to it. Anyways. Off to design a cover and nail down a few more characteristics and organize my ideas/thoughts a bit more. Good luck to anyone else currently prepping for NaNo! Have a great day, -Anna

Greetings humanoids. This week's interview features Jordan from J.S. Roth (be sure to check out her amazing site). It's super awesome and Jordan is probably the coolest person ever, so I will not detain you any longer...enjoy... (The above picture is a bit off since Jordan recently changed her blog...whoops.) ~When did you first start blogging? I started blogging the summer five years ago, back when I was still a youngin'. ~What inspired you to start blogging? When I was little, I was very big in to story telling (as I still am). Journals and journals and journals were filled with my nonsensical musings, and then one day, I was online (I'm not really sure why now), and I came across a blog where posts and posts and posts were filled with someone else's musings. The rest is a fairly self-explanatory: I asked my parents if I could have a blog, they said yes, and many years later- here we are. ~What's the story/inspiration behind your blog name? I guess ya'll will be the firsts to know that I'm actually going to change my blog, and its URL, to my name: jordanskyroth. ;) ~When you first started blogging, what did you mainly blog about? When I first started blogging I did- rather awful -craft tutorials; I then moved to photo stories because my crafts were not that good. ~What are some of your favorite blogs to follow/read? My favorites are Cally Declan's blog ( wordspassingyouby.blogspot.com ); Adelaide's blog (downbythewillows.blogspot.com ); and, of course, this beauty. ~What inspires you most in writing? Life. When I go out I'm always watching those around me. I get inspiration from the way a girl's hair blows in the wind, the way a boy will glance down at his feet before talking, etc. ~What are your favorite things to take pictures of? I like taking photos of people mostly. However, lately I've been dabbling in taking nature photos (mostly of flowers), and that has been a lot of fun. ~If you had to choose just one for the rest of your life: writing or photography? Well, at the moment I am in college ( I graduated two years early ), and given all the papers I have to write (or else I will fail): writing. If you mean, though, one or the other as a medium of fun... the answer would still likely be writing. ~What are three words you would use to describe your blog? I honestly have no idea ;) And for some random ones... ~Ice cream or cupcakes? cupcakes are the window to my soul. ;) ~What are your three favorite colors? I like nature-y colors: forest green, burnt orange, maroon. ~If you could be any animal, which would you want to be? A wolf. ( I have a thing for wolves ) Thank you so much Jordan!
Have a great day. -Anna *whispers* Guys. Guys. *screams* GUYS! RWBY Volume 4 premiered today. I actually can't watch it yet...but they posted the intro on Facebook. It's awesome. I'm intrigued and officially re-excited. They also posted a short sneak peek of ep. 1. The animation looks amazing. I am ecstatic. Anyways, I forwent (forwent is a word! I didn't know that until thirty seconds ago and now I'm really happy about that because it's useful) a regular greeting to screech about RWBY-ness, but hi guys! So, as some of you are aware of, NaNoWriMo is upon us. In fact, it starts in a little over a week. Ten days to be exact. AND IT IS TIME TO CONQUER. Those of you who are participating this year are probably busy getting prepared...unless you're like me and haven't even started. Okay, that's not completely true...I actually planned a few things for Continuing Forever 2 out during/right after the editing process of Continuing Forever, but a couple of weeks ago I decided not to do NaNo, and then last week I (re)decided to do it. I briefly decided not to do it mainly because of time. Things have been pretty busy lately, which is fine by me because I like to be busy...but it does make things like NaNoWriMo a bit difficult. November is always such a busy time for some reason, and I have plans to travel some this month, and I've recently(ish) begun working (babysitting) two days a week. School is already becoming a bit difficult to get done...so I thought, "Hey, I'll just not do NaNo this year and give myself late December-early March to write Book 2..." But then I decided it was better to use the "brutally" cold Winter months for editing and plan to publish late Spring/mid-Summer/ sometime around there. Plus, having to write at least 50,000 words within a month is motivation that I definitely need and without which it is unlikely that I would ever finish a book. So take that, NaNo. You can't scare me off that easily. (lol jk you technically did scare me off but I came back.) But I do feel a bit more prepared this year...though still not nearly as prepared as I'd like to be. Last year I sat down at the computer on the evening of November 1st, opened a new document, started writing...and yeah. Continuing Forever happened. (Professional amiright?) The problem with writing the second book is that I have to make sure everything matches up with the first...which requires a lot of re-reading and jotting down random facts about this world(s) and characters and story I have created and I am so tired of doing that. I mean, when I finished the first draft of Continuing Forever I was pretty happy with it (well, still am, I guess), but every time I read it I get more and more tired and sick of it and I just...gaaaaah! But I'm almost ready to just jump into the actual writing part, so that's cool. All good. So yes. I am participating in NaNoWriMo this year, although I have doubts about whether or not I'm going to actually hit the 50,000 word mark by December 1st. All we can do is hope... nah it'll be fine, I can (probably) do it (mostly). Also, Joy and I want to get together one or two times to write together for moral support and be very successful and productive together. Or, you know, we could end up just sobbing and screaming and wailing. Who knows?
(Pssst, Joy. I was trying to figure out who should be Ruby and who should be Weiss in this scenario- at first I thought I'd be Ruby since her hair has reddish-like qualities about it but your hair isn't really white and mine is longer than yours...plus you're much nicer than me so yeah you should be Ruby but then again you're the oldest so....I dunno.) So yeah. Let's do it, fellow WriMos! Yayyy writing! Yayyy stress! Yayyyy procrastination! YAYYYYY RWBY. (And also all the wonderful parts of NaNoWriMo because it is overall really cool.) (But RWBY is cooler.) (I mean have you seen the new intro?) (Oh my gosh.) (So excited.) Have a great day/night, guys. -Anna Interview tiiiime! Hey guys! So at the beginning of the month I started a series of interviews for the month of October. Since then I have changed blogs, but the interviews are still on! I'll posting them every Monday for the remainder of the month (this one is a day late...oops). This week's interview is with my friend Mackenzie from Think. Eat. Write. Read. She is an amazing person and her blog is spectacular so be sure to check it out here! And now, on with lè interview... How long has it been since you started blogging? It has been almost 6 years since I started blogging. Yes. I am very old. What was your first blog name? Uh... Um... *frantically removes any evidence of my existence from the internet* Oh, well, you know what? I seem to have forgotten. Whoopsie. My bad. What is one way you would say that blogging has helped to shape who you are as a person? Blogging has helped shaped me in so many ways possible. It has allowed me to venture out of my safe zone and into a world where I can create the way I was born to. I feel as though it has helped me become a more positive person, and has inspired to do something with my creative mind. Let’s just say, without blogging, I certainly wouldn’t be the person I am today. And I truly believe that is a good thing. What are a few of your favorite blog posts. Ever. ? Posts that I have written myself? Or posts by other bloggers? If it’s posts by other bloggers, then I probably do not have an answer for you. Every post I read from fellow bloggers are simply my favorite. I’ve been trying to read more blogs lately, and if I find a post that was either helpful or I just enjoyed it, I add it to my new collection on Bloglovin’ called Worthy Reads. As for posts I’ve written... Probably zero. My posts are very chaotic and too wordy. Even though I feel proud when I first publish them, but if I were to go back and look through some of those posts, I'd probably only find, like, one semi-decent one. Maybe. What’s your (current) favorite song? Okay. So, I’m kinda in one of those moods where I don’t have a certain song I am constantly listening to. (Though, I do go through those kind of phases almost always.) Right now, I’m going through a Shawn Mendes binge. He's very purdy. Now what’s the song that you almost answered with for the last question? (Your second favorite song ;) Stockholm Syndrome by One Direction (bringin’ back the oldies) Which do you prefer: writing or photography? ERG. THIS IS SO HARD! So, if it’s for a profession: writing. But if it’s for fun, probably photography. And for some random ones… If you could go on a road trip tomorrow with five people (five not including yourself) (fictional or real), who would you pick? Well, I was gonna say... Me. Myself. And I. Although, Me is kinda annoying. She’s always hungry. But then you said NOT including myself. So, now I’m stumped. I was going to start listing all my fictional crushes but I have a feeling that would be one awkward road trip. Then again, awkward is my specialty. Describe your perfect pizza. ;) CHEESE. AN ABUNDANCE OF ABUNDANCES OF CHEEEESE! Also, if there was a chance I could have a lasagna pizza, I’d be set for life. How many pets have you had throughout your life? One. Unless you count my siblings as pets- because, let’s be real, they can act like animals most of the time. If you had to choose between having your nails painted black for the rest of your life or never painting your nails again, what would you pick? I’m, like, 99.9% goth on the inside. You do the math. Would you rather gain the ability to fly or the ability to breathe underwater? Why? WE’RE SOARIN’, WE’RE FLYIN’! ...Fly. Because I’m already part mermaid. #justthatawesome #amiright Thanks so much Mackenzie! <3
And thank you to all of you who read that as well. <3 xo, Anna Hello people of the internet world!
My name is Anna. Welcome to my (new) blog. For those of you who already know me from my previous blog (Demigods and Unicorns), hi again! I decided to create this blog, Lethologica, for the sole purpose of starting from scratch with a completely different site. I will not longer be posting on Demigods and Unicorns and will be activating a link re-direct within the next few days. For those of you who don't know me yet, hello, and welcome! I am a 16-year old girl who loves reading, art, music, dancing, cats, photography, and words. I type sarcastically, which I am told gets hard to understand sometimes, so I apologize in advance for that. I also get overly excited sometimes (usually while fangirling) and type using all caps or adding way too many letters to the end of a word (as in, yayyyyyyyyyyyyy!!). This blog will have three main focuses, which are
I am very excited for this new leg in my "blogging journey" and would love for you to follow along! Get in touch by going to the "Contact" page, if you want. Thank you for reading, and have a great day! See you soon, -Anna |
