This month, I finished Black Powder War, read Empire of Ivory, and started Victory of Eagles. (All by Naomi Novik.) I read probably 3x as much as a I read last month... so yay!
In other bookish news, Sarah J. Maas revealed the title for Chaol's novel (Tower of Dawn). I'm so glad that Chaol is on his way back; September can't get here fast enough.
This is really movie news, too, but... Everything, Everything comes out this month! (A movie based on the really sweet and extremely well-written book, Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon.
I'm actually kinda pleased with the progress I've made while editing Continuing Forever II this month. And yes, sure... there are a lot of amendments to be made and words to be changed. Correctional ink covers a good deal of the pages... heh. But still, at least I'm working through it.
Also, I completed and posted the first installment of "Wings"- check it out here! I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I don't usually write in the "Rom-Com" genre (and, to be honest, I can already see that this story will definitely be more comedy and less romance), but it's a fun change.
This month's music favorites:
Random things worth noting from April:
Blog posts that I really enjoyed this month...
Patience and Changes by Lorraine at Laurel Crowned. (You should invest some time into reading through her blog; she has a lovely writing style and many beautiful writing pieces.)
Worth the Wait by Grace at Totally Graced. (<<Another amazing blog right here.)
Breath with Me | A Reminder by Rose at Self Known. (I've said it before and I'll say it again: Rosie is amazing and her blog rocks.)
Tropophobia | Journal Expert by Mackenzie from think. eat. write. read. (Kenzie is awesome- see how she can make you love a post, even using only a few words? And her blog is awesome too, go read it and you'll see what I mean.)
Oh boy, the merry month of May. It's almost Summer, guys. Almost here.
Fun (ish) fact: This will be my last Summer as a high school student.
So that's a thing. I'm honestly glad about it, but still... crazy.
I have prom this Friday, so that's something fun coming up. I'll also be (hopefully) getting a lot of editing and/or writing done this month. If I'm diligent and have a decent amount of time on my hands, I'll be done with the the first revision/read-through of "CF II" by the end of this month.
Also on the blog agenda for May: 2 book reviews (All The Light We Cannot See and A Torch Against the Night) and a post solely about art journaling. Plus whatever else I come up with... heh. You guys know how I am.
Pages from my Art Journal...
If you're still reading this all the way down here, high five. Thanks for reading <3
I hope you have an amazing May! What was your favorite part of April?
